Sickness

I am really hating the sick season this year. Two years ago I was also pregnant during this time and student teaching 1st graders, but I didn't seem to catch half as many illnesses as this year. As soon as I get over one thing, I'm onto a new one...it's been quite frustrating. What's worse, is now I have a little boy to share it with. It is so horrible to see him sick. I seriously feel so bad...especially because I have him around so many kids all the time-he hasn't got a chance. He's had a cough for 3 weeks now and it was getting better until yesterday when it took a turn for the worse. He also had a goopy eye when we picked him up from nursery...and he hates goopy eyes. This really has been a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad sick season.

We pull out all the stops to try and keep Carter happy and comfortable when he's sick. He loves ballons, so we pulled out a package and let him play with some blown up and some deflated. I drew a face on one with eyes, nose, and mouth and he really enjoyed pointing out the face features. All the "toys" that are usually "no no" become okay if it makes him happy.
