Out for the Summer

Tyson and all 3 kids were totally konked out by 7:30pm tonight...it's been that kinda weekend. I figured a good use of my time would be to go through the bazillion pictures since March and at least attempt to document the last two months of our lives.

California Trip

Ty needed to travel to Vegas and St. George for work and last minute we decided it would be fun if I drove down to St. George with the 3 kids to meet him and we went to Zion National Park and then onto California. I LOVE that my kids are such great travelers. We don't have a car DVD player and for the 4+ plus hours I was by myself with the 3 of them, we took 2 potty breaks and besides that they just talked, slept, or read books. I sure love them.

Zion National Park

We stayed at Pioneer Lodge right outside of the park...the plan was to stay in St. George, but Ty ended up having to work later than he thought, so I drove the kids to my old neighborhood/school/house in Santa Clara and showed them my old stomping grounds. It was fairly late by the time he finished and when we went to go get a hotel, everything was booked for state finals or something like that. It was like 9:30pm, we hadn't eaten dinner, and we had no place to stay...so we figured we'd drive another 40 minutes to Zions and find a place to eat and sleep there. We did get a room (barely!), but all the food joints were closed. We checked in and Ty ran to a grocery store right before they closed to get us some treats. It was an adventure. The next morning, we woke up, had a yummy breakfast, and headed into the park. We drove around and then hiked Temple of Sinawava. It was the perfect time...not too crowded or too hot. It brought back so many memories of great times spent in Zions with my family when I was younger. Oh, and Carter really wanted to use the porta-potty there....seriously?!

Disneyland

It seems like forever ago we went to Disneyland. I think it was March 18-23. I know Kimball was 5 weeks old because everywhere we went people would ask his age. Did you know that Disneyland and California Adventure have awesome mother's lounges? They do. These sweet little old ladies even bring you filtered water while you nurse. I definitely took advantage of the air conditioning and quiet space. Also, discovered how family-friendly Disneyland really is...Kimball was able to ride at least 9 rides with all of us...at 5 weeks old. It was nice.

Some highlights:
*Getting the 3 day park hopper and one early morning entrance...we didn't feel too rushed and like we had to wait in huge lines.
*Taylee getting to meet Aurora, Ariel, and Cinderella (her favorite)...she was so cute and so excited.
*Watching Braden and Jared in the Star Wars show (Carter was NOT interested in participating...too scary!)Braden didn't need the host girl telling him how to fight Darth Vader...he had all his own cool moves.
*Walking the beach and letting the kids play and enjoy themselves by the water
*Not being pregnant...getting to ride rollercoasters again!
*The parades at California Adventure...they were so cute, but I was heartbroken that Taylee SLEPT through the electrical parade. I don't even know how she did it b/c we were front and center...but she would've LOVED the princesses and fairies.
*Seeing Joseph/Tracy and boys and Pam & Dave...even though it included Carter asthma drama and an ER visit
*Spending time with Jamin/Shanda and fam...miss you guys tons!

One happy little lady

Carter was so excited to ride this swing thing...until he fell face first in the mulch
Parade
Carter LOVED driving at Autopia...except Dad and Tay kept bonking into us...Carter kept turning around and shouting at them to be safer

Some random people asked if we wanted our picture taken right against this wall...in Mickey Mouse's house. Not sure the significance, but hey we'll take a family pic any day.

Ty was obviously the popular one at J&Shandas

EASTER

Our little guy's first one. We had Ty's mission reunion which we always enjoy. We met up with the Whitings and then had them over for the weekend and all watched conference together. We had colored and decorated eggs earlier in the week and we had an easter egg hunt and ate treats and candy. As always we LOVED conference and were able to apply so many great things to our lives. I started preschool back up the day after (I started my maternity break the second week in February).

Concentrating on decorating

I think Tay was most proud of the colored paper towels

Bought a piano with all our saved credit card points, fun music for me, and started teaching Carter

Tay turned 3...this deserves a post of its own one of these days

Raised butterflies from baby caterpillars (I think the whole process took about 2 months). By the time they were ready to go free...they'd become my little babies

Preschool Graduation

We had our graduation Thursday night in our backyard. 24 kids total, 12 graduating (Carter was one of them). I absolutely LOVE teaching and ADORE all my kids. They are so awesome as are their parents. I often lay in bed at night and feel so blessed. I get to do something I truly love doing and feel is my calling all while being a mom and spending all day with my own sweet kids. Could life get better?

Taylee had everyone laughing for all the wrong reasons...

Taylee attended a fairy birthday party. As soon as she got home, she wanted to put on her tinkerbell costume with her new wings. She went outside and I heard her saying "I wish I wish with all my heart that I can fly like tinkerbell"...so cute. I love that little lady. *On a side note, do you love our super green grass? The company Ty works for, Preventive Pest Control, does it and they do an AMAZING job. I could sleep in that grass...it is great.*

I'll end with this one from earlier tonight. Carter really loves to hold Kimball...who is turning out to be quite a chunker. Taylee wore those pajama bottoms until she was 2 and a half. Kimball will be 4 months on June 10th and fits them. He is such a sweet baby. He loves to be talked to...and he will talk away and make all sorts of sweet noises and smiles.

Hooray! It's fun to see some updates from your family! And good to know about nursing lounges at Disneyland, since we have a couple of free passes we are going to use within the next month (although I might just leave the baby at my parents' house).

They had such a fun year and they learned SO much. You are a very gifted teacher and my kids just adore you! Oh, and I'm so happy to see that Taylee likes her fairy wings. :) Very cute!
