First off...
Still LOVING life with this boy. He has developed colic and...like his big sister did at his age...cries for a few hours in the afternoon and then a few more at night. BUT...we still sure adore him and know that the colic will pass.
The past two weeks we were able to have family from both sides visit for Kimball's birth and blessing and it was so fun. Kimball was blessed by Tyson on February 21st in our ward. Tyson's dad and grandpa, my dad and grandpa, Tyson's brother, and my uncle stood in the circle. It was a beautiful blessing and Kimball was an angel during it.
Right before leaving for church for the blessing. I thought I should take a picture before church just in case we weren't able to get one after.

I was glad I got at least one because he spit up immediately after the first picture. And then he leaked out the other end after church so I didn't get a picture. And then his sweet sister decided his white tie was the perfect canvas for her artwork...so-I still have only the one decent picture of him in his blessing outfit.
We were so blessed to have great friends along with our family come to celebrate with us. This is the Whiting family from Neola, UT. Anthony was Ty's mission trainer and we've remained great friends. They drove all the way just to attend the blessing (and Merilynne is pregnant with twins!!)
Two of my best friends were able to attend the blessing. Katie pulled a 6+ hour day to come and Lynsey left her husband (who's in the bishopric in their ward) and brought her little guy, Caden, from Provo. Both Katie, Lynsey, and Merilynne ended up subbing with me in a primary class. Thanks girls!!
Oma & Opa were our first guests. We had a great time just hanging around talking and playing. Oma sewed some cute jammies, spit-up diapers, and a baby blanket for Kimball while she was here and Opa spent countless hours on the floor playing with Taylee and Carter. He was such a good sport and let the kids wrestle all over him. In this picture, he had fallen asleep and Carter took advantage of the opportunity and tied his suspenders to the stair railing. When Opa woke up, he couldn't move....they learned quickly Carter's love of knots. Thank you Oma & Opa for coming down and hanging out with us! We sure love you!
Right before Jamin/Shanda/Jared/Braden/Sadie left to move to California, we took a cousin picture. Jared is such a great older cousin and example...he kept asking about Kimball and checking on him

Tyson left with the whole crew moving Jamin & Shanda to California so my parents and two youngest sisters came to stay with me and the kids. We stayed busy and got to see and do a lot around Lehi and Provo. While Sara gave McKayla a tour of campus, Grandma watched Kimball, and the kids and Marissa and I went to feed the ducks. It was fun for about 3 seconds...until the ducks started attacking. Marissa immediately distracted them away from the kids (Carter was NOT loving them being so close).
Even Taylee got a little nervous about them getting so close with their beaks. They kept following us wherever we walked and we were worried they'd get run over following us into the street, so we sat on a bench and waited until they realized we had no more food.
While on campus, we stopped at Creamery on 9th for lunch. Here Carter and Taylee were being walruses.
The morning they had to leave, my dad took Carter to the dinosaur museum. Dinosaurs are a huge passion of my dads and Carter had a blast sharing that passion with his Grandpa. The rest of us girls & Kimball hung out at the ice cream parlor
Thanks Mom & Dad for visiting and for bringing the girls. We had so much fun and miss you lots! And thanks Rissa and Mickey for skipping school for us! You're the best!
After my parents left, my older sister Krista and her little boy Oliver flew in for a few days. Every time we're together, it's like we just pick up where we left off...it's so fun. She and Sara and I had a fun girls night out (with both our babies too:) of sushi at Happy Sumo, and drinks and dessert at Spark Lounge. It was super yummy and great company!
Ollie really liked the cotton candy topping that came on our shirley temple
We wanted to try a bunch of different drinks and desserts...but our eyes were much larger than our stomachs
Carter loved the one-on-one time he got from Krista. She was so good at listening to all his stories and encouraging his creativity. These are some creations they came up with on the driveway.
And... some other things we've been up to
After our bedtime routine of scripture study, prayer, and testimonies, Ty does some "school practice" with the kids in their beds. For Carter, they practice sight words. Both kids love this time and it really helps enhance what we do in preschool

Kimball's first real bath
He didn't mind it much, but much prefers a long soak in the big bathtub
And some funny things Carter and Tay have been up to:
Carter was upset with me the other day when I asked him not to do something. He went into his room and shut the door. A little while later, he opened his door, set something down, then went back in and shut the door. I went over to look and found this:
This is all Taylee. I'd say she's got baby on the mind, no?

YOU are so busy! Keep up the patience, and get out for alone time! What a sweet baby he is.
Fun stuff! I love Carter's knots! He's so creative with them.
What a great idea to eat at Happy Sumo then go to Spark for the yummies there!
Cute post, Tecia. I'm glad you had so much fun with all your family in town. Now that they're all gone, we need to do something fun with our kids. Give me a call! :)
