May 28th was the preschool end-of-year program and graduation. The theme for our program this year was protecting our bodies and minds from harmful things. I followed the Brite Music Safety Kid songs and included songs such as:
All you gotta say is no-different ways of saying no if someone offers you harmful substances
Go for a natural high-had a lot of questions from parents about this one :)...but it's really very innocent...it talks about ways to help ourselves feel happy and excited about life by doing natural things like riding a bike, dancing, running, swimming, etc
Designer Genes-take care of the body you've been given and be proud of it
Everybody needs to feel love-help everyone feel loved and included
I can forget-it's easy to forget some things, but harmful things we look at can stay in our minds
Pollution of the minds-pollution in many forms is regulated (sound, air, water, food) but bad things that can pollute our minds need regulation too
I'm in Charge-even if others are putting bad things out there, we can choose not to fill our minds and bodies with it.
Turn it off-if you see or hear something that's not good for your body or mind, look away or turn it off
Make the World beautiful-this was the song sung by the 12 preschool graduates...singing to their parents, teachers, adults, peers.
We had class numbers, group numbers, duets, and solos. For the graduating kids, I gave them each a Book of Mormon embossed with their name and their sight words highlighted in the first chapter, a diploma, their class journal, and a keychain with their color-coded sight words. All the kids did so great. I could tell that they really touched a lot of hearts...with their sweet personalities and Spirit and with their message.

I didn't get a pic of my own kids the night of the program, so this'll have to do
In the days leading up to the program, the house was filled with many shirts to be labeled with names and sight words to be cut and assembled

Since the program, I've been bombarded with all kinds of goodies from my sweet preschool families. Cards, books, gift cards, treats, flowers, aprons...ThANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!
These got dropped off last week and my kiddos and I thought they were pretty awesome...personalized M&Ms!
